The GeoNAV Group, LLC creates fast and accurate colored point clouds. Our LiDAR scans can create maps for planning purposes, videos, 3D models for visualizations, building floor plans, sections, and elevations. Multiple scans are registered together for larger environments. Our scanner enables us to walk through and around each subject while collecting data. This affords us the greatest flexibility to scan unique environments.
There are no limitations to what can be scanned – large opens spaces and venues, small tight spaces, even complex, underground, or steep wooded environments. If we can fit in it, walk through it, or drive around it, we can scan it, map it and create a 3D model of it.
Our mobile LiDAR scanner utilizes SLAM technology (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) to map its environment and tracks its position without GPS, even underground and inside buildings.
The GeoNAV Group can scan buildings, landscapes, cemeteries, statues and monuments, forests and wooded sites, steep ravines, construction sites, industrial sites, equipment and utility facilities, power line corridors, caves and mines, warehouses, airplanes, boats – anything that is accessible.
The scanner produces colored point clouds in .LAS and .PLY formats that are easily transferrable to all major third-party CAD and GIS software programs.
Post-scanning opportunities and uses include:
Buildings: documentation of existing conditions, floor plans, cross-sections, façade and interior elevations, orthographic elevations, and as-built plans
- Landscapes: documentation of existing conditions, master plans, feasibility studies, site plans, existing condition studies, cross-sections, and profiles
- Videos,fly-throughs, and birds-eye views are all possible
Uses by industry include:
- Surveying and Mapping
- Architecture, Engineering, and Construction
- Facilities Management
- Transportation and Infrastructure
- Historic Preservation and Archaeological Documentation
